From Hay House – Daily Affirmations – August 30, 2012 – Heal Your Life.
.
I lost 160. I stayed out of a wheelchair since 2005. I hate gaining 45 pounds. I hate needing helpers to walk at times. But in order to heal, I must love and accept my body and myself, many body parts I cannot change at this time. I accept me. I will. Do you?
.

An old axiom was “Don’t cry over spilled milk”, because it came from a cow directly so, and if the pail flipped over your ration for the day was gone. Later, the saying turned into one of do not lament over your (past) losses. How true! What can one do but wipe up the spill and move on? The cow will still be there. There are other cows. You can be happy getting or be happy with what you got. I need to try to choose the latter today, and every day. Why? I need to get better and better with a talent that is inside of me, that is inside all of us. If we cry over what might have been, instead of rejoicing in what may be, we may just miss…something. Personal DEPT. Promises of the program. Two years ago my pals back in No Va DC remember when I stopped doing stairs and sold my house. It could have been different. I could be in a wheelchair or bedridden.  And I am not. HP, it may take me a long, long time, but you have given me a calling, a reason for living, a way to go on. I am surrounded by love. I am in competition with my own drive, wits and talent I was given. I share it with whom will ask. I will help those who still suffer, going to a hospital, an adult living center, hospice, Goodwill, UMW, the USO, the VA, doing what I am asked to do.  I will become a Music Therapist or an Assistant and share / teach others the power of music and help those with alzheimers and dementia and reach them with THEIR music, their memories! Oh, Music heals! MUSIC IS MEDICINE I am living proof. And, when I get a little crabby, I need to think of Jonah. He was eaten. By a whale. Hey, now I just need knees. One down. One to go. That’s all. Love, a broken down chanteuse, abbe b.
ps: volunteering is being an intern.

Myrna Loy wrote a book and that is what she called it. This is me last week after two surgeries, so far. I am laughing and becoming fabulously glad! – abbe b.
